Coming Up*...

"Last Wednesday Apèro" -  at 18.00 to 19.30 on the last Wednesday of each month. An informal chat and a drink at a different venue each time.

26th Feb - at Le Quai bar in Port Vendres, recently sold. The new owner Laurent is happy to welcome us. Please let us know if you are coming.

Lunch - Once again there will be a lunch for women to celebrate the International Day of Women's Rights at the Archipel Restaurant in Port Vendres on 9th March.

VO films at Vauban cinema, Port-Vendres - "1917" in English (VOSTF) with French subtitles, on Friday, 21st February at 20h30. All the other showings are in French. It won many awards at the BAFTA ceremony last Sunday, including best film. Other V/O films this month are in Spanish we think with French sub-titles.

Winter Walk -We usually have a walk and a lunch in February but since I am away for a week or so, this will take place in early March. Date to be advised.

Journée Citoyenne in Port-Vendres - Saturday 7th March . Please let us know if you would like to join in. A morning of working in the town followed by a barbecue. Great fun!

Recipe Book - featuring favourite recipes from our members, the booklet is on sale now.  We have ordered more of our excellent Recipe Books, having sold all the first 100, and they have just arrived, so get your orders to us as soon as you can.

VI Groups - As the association grows, a variety of separate groups representing different activities are emerging, so if you are keen on any of the groups, let us know.

Russian: The small group of Russian speakers meets in Port Vendres on Fridays at 1500 for conversation and coffee when Tanya is here. Contact Linda for details.

Spanish: Carol Fraine has offered to lead a Spanish conversation group on Thursday afternoons if you want to go along. Again, contact Linda for details of venue. (Beginners level, but more advanced also possible.)

English: I'm sorry not to have made more progress here. The idea is to meet for an hour or so for a chance for conversation practice. I shall be sending out a short podcast in the coming days to give a theme to get us started. This is not a beginners' group, but a chance to polish up language skills that may be a little rusty.

Bird Watching: I send out occasional information to those who are interested in the birds of this area. If you would like to receive these emails, let me know.
