"Last Wednesday Apèro" - at 18.00 to 19.30 on the
last Wednesday of each month. An informal chat and a drink at a different
venue each time, including Banyuls and Collioure. 27th Feb - Didier and Anne have offered to host this at Chez Anne et Didier on the Quai
Winter Walk - We usually try to schedule a winter walk and lunch at Refuge Madeloc in February, but as Linda and I will be away for the second half of the month, and the weather at present is not great, I will wait until March.
International Women's Day - 8th March Linda is planning a Women's Lunch. Details to follow.
Banyuls Aquarium - 9th March. We have been talking to Anne Marie who works at the Laboratoire Arago about a guided visit to the Aquarium possibly followed by lunch in Banyuls. More details later in the month.
Summer Exhibition - As announced at the AGM, the dates for this year are June 11th to 17th. Get to work - it is closer than you think!
Recipe Book - featuring favourite recipes from our members, the booklet is on sale now. We have ordered more of our excellent Recipe Books, having sold all the first 100,
and they have just arrived, so get your orders to us as soon as you can.
Cinema at Port Vendres - Thursdays at 20.30. Thursday 28th February - "If Beale Street Could Talk" directed by Barry Jenkins (Moonlight).
VI Groups - As the association grows, a variety of separate groups
representing different activities are emerging, so if you are keen on any of the groups, let us know.
Russian: The small group of Russian speakers meets in Port Vendres on Fridays at 1500 for conversation and coffee when Tanya is here. Contact Linda for details.
Spanish: Carol Fraine has offered to lead a Spanish conversation group on Thursday afternoons if you want to go along. Again, contact Linda for details of venue. (Beginners level, but more advanced also possible.)
English: I'm sorry not to have made more progress here. The idea is to meet for an hour or so for a chance for conversation practice. I shall be sending out a short podcast in the coming days to give a theme to get us started. This is not a beginners' group, but a chance to polish up language skills that may be a little rusty.
Bird Watching: I send out occasional information to those who are interested in the birds of this area. If you would like to receive these emails, let me know.
